Good Gym Day

I finally went back to the gym today. I had a good day of working with the weights, I then did the elliptical for 45 min. It really felt great to get back at it.

Why do I get in a rut and not want to go to the gym, I get upset and then when I go I feel better. I just have to keep on telling myself and not give up to keep the right frame of mind.

I have a hard time during the holidays it is hard for me dur to old tapes in my mind of things that happened during the holidays. So I have to keep myself healthy and focused on the right things,

    What you wrote here is really important. I know exactly the situation you're describing----how we skip working out for awhile and then, when we get back to it, we wonder why we ever stopped!

    I have been going through this, too. Yesterday I almost talked myself out of going on a walk. I told myself it would be dark before I got back from the trail I wanted to hike, I had too much work to do and it was raining. Well, it wasn't dark when I finished hiking, I probably got more work done because of my resulting renewed energy and the rain stopped practically as soon as I got out there! Plus, I felt great afterwards.

    I love that you're doing the self-talk that's necessary to break through these barriers AND that you're sharing it with us. It really helps me to help myself more, too!
