My daughter bought us a membership at our local fitness center and we have been trying some classses. We did an assessment with a trainer last night and he is going to set us up with a routine.

I am pretty excited. I have lost 8 pounds but have about 50 to go and think having the gym membership with help a bunch.

I feel so awkward though, I am so big that I am ungraceful and it is hard for me to do stuff. There are a few other heavier people roaming around but not many there. I hope to get to a better place soon.

Well I am off to the gym so bye for now!

emoticon emoticon emoticon Make sure you use that elliptical, cause it's a lot of fun, but don't overdue it or you'll end up with rubber legs! LOL That's what happened to me the first time I tried it! Felt like I was running! I can't do that cause of my knees, so it was a wonderful feeling! I'm so happy for you. Be patient. It took me 2 yrs to loose my 70 pounds, but I wasn't working in a gym, and doing strength training. That's when the weight started melting off! Best to you! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Don't worry about anyone else. You are there for the right reasons. Soon, others will be reluctant to exercise in front of YOU! emoticon

Good luck with the Gym Membership!
I can feel your pain with feeling big and awkward-but try and remember you are at the gym for your own self esteem, not for what you think other people are judging you for.
Stay committed and focused. Soon you'll be more fit and trim and feeling GREAT about yourself.
