Only One Pound

Hello, do you know me?

If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat,

And I'm the HAPPIEST pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.

WANT TO KNOW WHY??????

It's because no one ever wants to lose me.

I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!

Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.

So I just stick around and happily keep you fat.

Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it.

That is, until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.

Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please.

So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound."

(As if that were such a terrible thing.)

For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.

And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.

Happy Days!

After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

Lori sent this to me once and I don't think I will ever forget it. And think about adding all those little one pounds together by the end of the year.

I seldom lose more than a pound at a time. I'm happy with that. After a pound a week is 52 pounds in a year and I have lost 53 pounds total in 2.5 years.

I've been trying to lose just one pound over the last month and it just won't leave me. I've been running 3 X per week in addition to my other regular cardio and strength training but to no avail. I will keep trying. For me it's easier to lose one at a time instead of 5 at a time or 10 at a time. I have noticed my clothes seem to fit looser than they used to though.

    Well said, but...

I have been trying to loose .2 pounds (yup, you read it right...POINT 2 POUNDS) since July to reach an even 50 off. I have been increasing exercise, decreasing exercise, increasing calories, decreasing calories...separately, together & any thing else I can think of. And a whole pound is 5x what I am frustrated by...so, OMG...a pound is very significant to me.
