New Year

Saturday, January 01, 2011

So, the new year is here. This means I will be evaluating my goals and changing them up as needed. I haven't weighed myself in a few days bc of traveling and being busy. I have eaten a bit overboard, but continued to work out. I pray for maintenance and not gain, but we will see either tomorrow or Monday. But there are other goals besides weight loss that I have for 2011... So here they are.

1. Become a more confident individual. This means in ever aspect...more confident in my position as a teacher and coach. More confident in my appearance, my eating habits, my relationships, etc.

2. Start a cheer camp in the summers. I have wanted to start a cheer/gymnastics gym my entire life, but now know that it isn't a reasonable lifestyle for me and my future family. So the cheerleading coaching is a great way to fulfill my dreams still. I will continue coaching the school team, but I also want to start a cheerleading camp for tumbling, stunting, motions, dancing, etc. This is the year I will start this.

3. Run 5 or more races this year. I want to run at least 650 miles this year. That's less than 2 miles a day. Tomorrow I start with 5 miles. Still toting with the idea of a half marathon in May.

4. Be a motivator. I want to get to my goal weight and stay there, forever. but the thing is, I don't want to be a health snob. I want to be a health motivator. I want to motivate my family and friends to be health conscious. With this, I have to start making wiser choices all the time, but still have a balance of enjoyment.

With these four goal there are more smaller ones that go with them. I have weight loss goals, but I will evaluate those when I see my weigh in either Sunday or Monday. I'll post those goals at that time. I am proud of what I accomplished in 2010. I am proud of the lifestyle changes I have already made. I am also excited to see what lifestyle changes will continue to come!

I hope everyone has a wonderful New year!!! Here's to new goals and new accomplishments!

These are awesome goals! I probably should start thinking of my goals outside of weightloss goals. And I agree you are well on your way to being a health motivator (you are pretty much already there) You have been motivating me to stick with my dancing like you stick with your cheering and you probably didn't even know you were doing that for me!

You are well on your way to being a health motivator!! I have made it my resolution to run 5 - 5Ks! And your comments on my blog totally helped me make that decision! I think all your goals are great and you will get far in accomplishing them!

As for not weighing yourself lately, maybe you should try to not weigh yourself for 2 weeks or a month and see what happens? I had a lot of success with that this winter. By not thinking about the weight and focusing on my habits I made some great headway. Its just a thought :)

    Happy New Year!
