Did you gain over the holidays? SO WHAT!?!

I am reading "Thin for Life" by Anne Fletcher. It is not a new book, but a timeless classic. For the book she interviewed 160 "Masters" of weight loss to discover how they did it, and more importantly, what they do to to keep it off.
In chapter 1 she states that the "Masters" maintain their weight within a TEN POUND RANGE.
TEN POUNDS!?! I was stunned. Agog, even.
I always thought that regaining ten pounds was a disaster of epic proportions!! PROOF that I couldn't lose weight, would never lose weight, a total and utter failure!
Ten pounds. Apparently that's the line in the sand the Masters draw. The lesson here is WE are not failures and doomed to regain ALL the weight we've worked so hard to lose if we gained over the holidays. We just need to put it behind us, get on track, and move FORWARD.
I've been reading a lot of blogs over the past few days and lots of us are 'fessing up to weight gains over the holidays. SO WHAT! Let's just get back to business. I know I am!
