Living XXL Not For Me

Sunday, January 02, 2011

So here we go into 2011! Can I get a WOOT!?

So how did 2010 go? Well...I made the jump from making wearing an XL shirt a stretch and made the move up to XXL late in 2010. Yes, I accepted it. Because nobody notices that shirt that hangs down too long, right? Maybe what we are striving for as guys is a look where the belly is more comfortable, not all tight and peeking out from under the shirt.

I got to spend Xmas back in Austin, Texas where I moved away from four years ago. Couldn't wait to go mountain biking again in my favorite place. Turns out I did have to wait while I caught my breath after a few short peddles. More of the life of living XXL, huh?

Jan. 9th, just a week from now, will be two years since I joined Sparkpeople. What would have been had I stayed consistent?

So here we are in 2011, what's new this year? Well, I have come to the conclusion that living XXL is not for me. In fact, I'm going to be returning to living just plain large. How so? Well, it's that whole lifestyle thing.

My wife is making a commitment to change her health and lifestyle this year. It is really important to her, therefore important to me. Why not do it right alongside her? Since I do about 90% of the cooking I can make that part that much easier on her.

I have had some pretty successful Football blogs that have made me a nice little extra income for spending money the last few years. It bothered me that I wasn't spending the time learning or helping others. So, I'm starting a fitness/health/wellness blog that I have been thinking about for a couple years (I wasn't always tubby, I used to apply knowledge as a Personal Trainer). Basically helping people getting started and keep going. That is the hardest part for many, right?...AND I better live by example.

As I start working on my Masters Degree tomorrow this is all a bit of change at once. Is it too much? Maybe...for some. But I can do it, just dive in.

Have a good 2011!
