2010- A look back on the good the bad and the ugly!

Monday, January 10, 2011

I have intentionally taken my time posting this blog. I wanted to be able to reflect on it and figure things out.

One thing I figured out, and probably most importantly...
I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!!!

Although my successes weren't overly great on the scale, and my October setback was a biggy (mini stoke)...I learned that I can do anything that I put my mind to. Thus:
I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!!!

I learned that although I was on a rigorous schedule, and that it appeared crazy to others, it WAS doable for me.
I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!!!

I learned that it is very easy to fall of the wagon....or be pushed like I was in October...that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I have learned that my body knows more than I have given it credit for. I have learned that it is important to believe in it and trust what it tells me..my body is very smart....
I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!!!

I have learned that SP is there for me no matter what and that for the most part SP friends care about my well being MORE than those friends in the 'REAL' world...Why exactly is that anyway?? Perhaps I have schmucks for friends and family?!! Ya...that's it...ditch the schmucks in 2011!!
I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!!!

I have learned that I like my gadgets and they help keep me moving.

I have learned that I LOVE my personal trainer, Ashley...cuz she keeps me moving and accountable...plus she is one hell of a kick boxer and in AWESOME shape...if I was gay, I'd want her!!! emoticon
SHE IS WOMAN HEAR HER ROAR!!!

I have learned that I like eating healthy and not crappy, it makes me feel MUCH better in the long run and that 'Turtles' although yummy as hell initially....EVIL little buggers in the end!

I have learned that not drinking enough water makes my pee smell yucky!!! More water in 2011!!!! (this falls in the 'ugly' category!!)

I have learned that in order for my daughter to succeed, I MUST succeed should I want her to grown up and
BE A WOMAN TO HEAR ROAR!!!

I have learned that I am NOT being selfish by taking time to exercise. That without that time to myself, I am a grumpy parent that doesn't set good examples for her kids!

I have learned that 14 year old boys are a pain in my but and that if I don't get strong, HE WON'T HEAR ME ROAR!!!

I learned that EVERYTHING must be scheduled and written down and logged...be it through SP, personal fitness and diet journals, spreadsheets, notebooks...whatever...it HAS TO GET DONE otherwise, if I can't read it or see it...it simply never happened!

I learned that I LOVE my BodyBugg, and that I should NEVER renew it with an eCheck on line via PayPal cuz it takes to long to process...ARRGGHHH!! next time I'll use a Credit card so I can access it immediately!

I learned to enjoy a good cup of tea!

I learned to enjoy outdoor activities with my kids.

I learned the power of spreading the Spark.

I learned that being strong inside, makes me strong outside!

I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR!!!

I have learned that I MUST video blog once a week, cuz I miss it!

I have learned that I have learned so much this list could go on forever...

So there you have my lessons learned...for the most part...for 2011...

Stay tuned for my Goals for 2011...Ya ya....I know it's already the 10th...but it's a work in progress...next year I'll start thinking about my new goals BEFORE the year ends...how's that!!???

Later Sparkers,

RUN RUN RUN!!

I can definitely hear you ROAR. Of course, I can also relate to having a teenage son...and I love my bodybugg too. It makes me push myself to reach my goals! I know 2011 will be great!

    ROAR! You go girl!

I can relate your "schmucks for friends comment" 180%. The few close friends I have did not/do not seem at all interested in my "Healthy Lifestyle" quest, and there is ZERO support, I didn't even get a "Good for you" instead, I got a scrunched up face like WTH?!.
Over the summer, two GF's were up for walking with the dogs at night (these 2 are 100+ over weight) and they were doing really well, eating healthy, being more active, and losing weight. Then BANG, colder weather hit, and they have fallen completely off the wagon, I kept asking if they wanted to join me and the pups for walks, but I got tired of listening to the excuses (lies) so now, I just go, if they want to join me, they'll call me.

I just wanted to add to your comment about the schmucks for friends...I too have those and have found that there are a lot of moments in my life where I wish I lived closer to many of my sparkfriends so that I knew I had someone that understood what I was doing instead of critisizing my efforts!

I can hear you ROAR and you inspire me to want to ROAR!

I think that your reflections on 2010 and goals for 2011 coming a couple weeks into January are PERFECT. You can't completly reflect until it is over - and you can't plan until you reflect.

    You are right on target!
