Filling the Momentum Meter

Monday, January 10, 2011

With the first full week of January now gone, I am very happy with the progress I have made so far! I have worked really hard at getting in my miles- last week I had 15.8 miles (remember I am going for 15 each week now)! I have also worked every day on the Wii Fit Plus for additional cardio minutes, using my new 4" platform to increase my efforts there, and I went to the gym both Tuesday and Thursday last week. What's more I have been really determined and focused and I have logged all my food for 7 of the 10 days in this new year (including the last 4 straight days) and managed to stay in my calorie range every one of those days!! That is huge for me because normally I just don't take the time to do it, so I have to guesstimate (and we all know how well that works), plus over the holidays I ate way too much of all the wrong things, so I am really trying to get back on track!

Anyway, things are going really well. I try to make the most of the time I have so that if the unexpected comes up, I don't feel guilty or like I am missing out because I usually have managed to get my healthy choices in regardless. And when I weighed in this morning I saw a brand new number, down to 223!! So things are really shaping up well! It is really motivating to see the results of my hard work!

Today, I got my walk in and went to the gym, where I really pushed myself extra hard. I upped many of the weights, lowered the reps but increasing the number of sets, and really gave it everything I had. I am really excited to keep my momentum going and want to remember how I feel right now. It is really important for us to have these days to look back on when it gets rough and remember why we are doing this! I know things will not always go the way I planned, I know I may work hard and not always see the results I hoped for, but I will have this time to keep me focused, and I will have the habits I am working toward developing now to carry me through! Not to mention all of my wonderful SparkFriends cheering me on! Thank you!!!!

You are doing amazing. Making healthy choices throughout the day does help minimize the guilt. In fact it makes this journey much more enjoyable. Bravo to you.

I love your background btw. I keep fiddling with mine because I can't really find one that I like. I'll probably create mine own.

In response to your comment about what I plan to do to keep myself on track planning wise is to keep trying. I am a fairly organized person to start with. I just have to take my bad weeks and chalk it up to just life. This past week has been incredibley hard too but I have more supplies on hand and I pushed through the weariness and it seems to have helped me stay on track...at least food wise. I'm terrible with food at work.

You keep going on your excellent streak. You will be exactly where you want to be before you know it.
