For today's goal work I'm supposed to write about rewards - non-food rewards - that I get for each stage of my journey.

I started to think about those. At some point, I will need new clothes, but I'm more interested in "closet" shopping than going shopping. I don't want to postpone things like reading until I lose weight, because I think that being healthy includes down time. I don't need more things - in fact, I'm trying to divest, rather than accumulate. I'm also trying to give myself new challenges and experiences along the way, so I don't want to wait on those, either.

I guess that I feel that making those milestones are rewards enough. I know that already I'm feeling better fitting more easily in clothes, feeling more energetic (except for the stupid, current cold), etc. Feeling healthier is a reward. Getting more done is a reward. Feeling better about myself is a HUGE reward.

I'm not sure I need more than that.

Those are good thoughts, too, Janice. And there's always the added benefits of rewards like going down a clothing size, getting compliments, etc.

I really want to go shopping in my coset, too! That's the best! I think rewards are motivating for some. But, I like your ideas of how the milestone is a reward in and of itself. You might reach a milestone and then decide how you will "pat yourself on the back". I think it's important to acknowledge the milestone. After all, a lot of sweat equity goes into reaching it! Good thoughts!
