These boots were made for walking...

Sunday, January 16, 2011

I got up today due to the sound of someone screaming away at me. So I decided to get ready for work as soon as I got up. As I had a lot of time to get to work I decided to take a bit of a walk. I had no idea where I was going. I just left the house and carried on walking.
I knew I would get to the river somehow. It's my fave place. I guess it's because there is something quite calming about nature. It's probably got something to do with my love for poetry where the speaker in the poem finds consolation amongst nature; Keats, Tennyson and Bronte are amongst my favourites.
I love the city but it does make God's Green Earth seem grey at times. It seems that as man propelled forward it left behind the beauty that the world already had. Grey pavements and black tar roads have replaced the once lush green grass. Anyway enough about that but somehow I went to the river and decided not to stop.
I carried on walking alongside it until I got this bridge. I walked across and found that there was an Ecology Park on the other side of the river. I walked marvelling at the sheer beauty of it all.
There's something about being amongst creation that reminds you of the Creator. My mind was so refreshed my thought's were clear, my soul content and my body was getting ready to make me happy on the scales. It really was amazing. I loved how I felt. I haven't felt like that in a while.
I went to work afterwards and I felt like I got so much done.
And I was wearing my biker boots by the way, a gift to me from me for being in 130-ville.
I know that I'm not losing weight at the moment but I'm okay about it....because I am more than a number on the scale.
Take care

That must be a good walk, near with nature and with your prize boots! Hope we have more of parks that more lush with overhanging trees, more shades, less city feeling.

Not a nice way to wake up, but that is so awesome that you have someplace you can visit that is still untouched and beautiful.

I hear you, sometimes I wonder if there are any places left that have escaped man's influence. Thankfully there are many places that have not been greatly impacted.
