hello sparkers ;)

haven't posted a blog in a longggg time. sorry bout that. lol. hmm..where to start?! well, when i started the new job in august, i managed to put on 5 lbs. in the first month transitioning into my new role at work.. soon after, i met a guy at work, started dating him (big mistake: never date someone that works in your building again, wendi!) and i just ended it last sunday. he treated me better than any man has, but i found our focus on our health was very different (i make mine a top priority; enough said) and i couldn't see us working out long term. so, that was tough, but better for me in the long run. so.. in the time i was dating him, his eating habits wore off on me and i become lazy, and ate fast food and cookies and ended up putting on more weight. so i decided that i had had enough, and got back on my grind. i'm at 155/156 right now and working hard to lose the weight and get down to a feel good weight. i'm eating clean and hittin the gym hard and feeling a lot more like myself again. i am starting to see my definition coming back and i can feel changes happening in my body and i know in the next 2 months, i'll be back to where i want to be. i keep thinking bout spring/summer.. can't wait!!! i plan on having a killer bod this summer. you know what i noticed that i'm going to try REALLY hard to make sure doesn't happen again this year?? every year since i've lost the weight, i put on the same 15 lbs between september and december. every year. and it is so frustrating to have to work so hard to lose the same 15 lbs every year!! so this year, i plan on getting more fit than i ever have, and come september, kick it up a notch! really get super focused. act like i have a beach to be strutting in december, because i can't gain 15 lbs every winter. it's not okay with me. it's embarrassing, and angers me. so yea, it's always good when you can take a step back and notice a pattern of your actions... so that's my plan! stay consistent - year round! also, i'm really trying to not focus on the number on the scale so much because it's more about how i feel and look.. but anyway, yea, just wanted to touch base with you all and let you know i'm here... working hard and taking care of myself!! hope you all are doing well!

much love,

    Hi Wendy,
I have the same problem, but gain 20 lbs. I'm doing a contingency analysis on this problem for my psychology 136 class. All the best.

So glad you mentioned noticing patterns for ourselves. Such good advice. I think mine would be that I focus for summer, and once summer comes enjoy the fruits of my labors per-se! Well....my aim would be to continue focusing and working just as hard through summer. Even though it's really hard to put on gym clothes when all I wanna do is be in my bikini! (or at least a swim dress)

Always seems to happen, when you start dating someone you tend to put on weight.
Why not book a beach vacation/getaway for December so you have something to work for? That way you actually will be struttin on a beach and won't give in to that 15 lbs!

sorry to hear that you've put on some weight due to a guy! That's the worst! (Happened to me too... never again!) It's ok though, you'll get back top where you need to be soon with that attitude you've got!!!

So, we are both in the dating scene again, eh??? Hmmm... pickin's are SLIM over here! LOL
I hope you have better luck then me! :) emoticon

You have no idea how happy I was to see you blogged! I've been doing quite well for the past two days and I plan on keeping it up. Stepped on the scale to see 150 which is officially 16 lbs more than last birthday! I feel ya on the gaining weight in the winter! I'm so glad that you've been great all month. I was good the first week and a little of the second but lost it when Nathan came to visit for my bday week! I started my 60 min cardio sessions yesterday and I plan to do it 5-6 times a week. Not planning on strength training too much, do you think that's bad? I just feel so soft that I feel it's best to do cardio to slim me down. You obviously know what you're doing so I'll take your advice!

I have the exact same problem in the fall/early winter. Every year I'm up 10lbs due to tailgating, beer and not working out. This year I want to get to my goal weight then focus on not letting myself go during the fall. I think the first step is being aware.

On another note, that is so great that you realized that guy was giving you bad habits. It's so easy to get comfortable and slip back into those old habits. Good luck on the weight loss. You'll be back in your bikini body before you know it! emoticon
