First of all, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that came running to my side yesterday. I was completely overwhelmed with so much love, friendship and awesome advice. I met Sparkers for the first time that have such inspiring stories. What a blessing!
The strength I now feel from my friends did something this morning that even amazed myself. I did not run my 4 miles on the treadmill, I ran hardcore outside on the ic and snow packed streets while it was snowing with 14 degree temps. You CANNOT call that hardcore. Even my neighbors seriously think I am officially losing my mind. Perhaps I am LOL.
IT WAS AWESOME! I wore my new SpringHill XC pants and let me tell you...they are the bomb! I wore no base layers AT ALL and what a great feeling not having to carry all of that clothing around with me. LOVE. IT. Thank you JOEKUHL for telling me about them. Now I am just waiting for my Buff neck gaiter so I don't have that stupid scarf to deal with. I will get this streamlined yet!
So, yes the streets were ice but with my YakTrax I was able to run albiet slowly. If I felt my feet starting to slide I would simply slow down or walk. Its that easy. NO EXCUSES! NONE! NADA! I do have to admit that I am finding running in YakTrax is a little harder thatn without. Come february 27 though while I am running Princess with my beloved SkirtSports Lotta Breeze capris in the FLorida air I will see a huge difference with my endurance. This winter running toughens one up!
What is the point of this blog? I THINK I am coming back. As SANDIEGOJOHN told me this morning, my fire may be back. It may not be back as I don't see flames shooting from my hiney, but I certainly see flickers of a flame. Its a start. I hit rock bottom yesterday and what have I said all the time? Laurie needs to hit that bottom before resurfacing. Its how I roll.
What are your plans, Laurie? Well, I am glad you asked. I am taking it just ONE DAY AT A TIME. Each day I will have a plan and I will implement that plan with NO EXCUSES! You hear that, Renee? NO EXCUSES! I will have a fitness plan that will not be hours upon hours of working out cuz that does not work for me. I am going to join the SparkPeople 10 minute Fitness Challenge. The SP 28 day Bootcamp worked awesome and I will now try this one. baby steps with NO EXCUSES. I will get my water consumed ONE DAY AT A TIME. I will eat healthy ONE DAY AT A TIME. I will watch my Coors Light consumption ONE DAY AT A TIME. I will continue with my Princess HM training ONE DAY AT A TIME.
Most importantly, I will not place alot of pressure on myself and I will speak gently with myself ONE DAY AT A TIME.
I will have NO EXCUSES...ONE DAY AT A TIME!
