Illness

Wednesday, February 02, 2011

I haven't been involved in quite awhile. I lost myself. I have maintained my weightloss and have built muscle. I have severe knee osteo and am having trouble walking.
My son Tony lost 65 lbs. and is leaving for the Marine Corps basics on June 20th. I am really going to miss him.
I'm still caregiver for my 87 yr. old Father. It's not easy some days but I push on.
As soon as this weather permits I'm heading off to an orthopeodic doc to get help for my knee.

I have severe osteoarthritis in my knees and all my joints. I am so sorry you are in pain and having trouble walking. I can relate to your difficulty because I have the same struggle daily. I'm just wondering if you have asked your primary doctor about taking one of the over the counter anti-inflammatory medications? Sometimes they can really work well and decrease your pain while you wait it out to see an orthopaedic doctor. I am a retired nurse and I know how much work goes into taking care of an elderly parent. I hope you have a support system for yourself. Also, just thought I would mention that my dad was a Marine for 30 years and loved it. He served in 3 wars too. As a mother, I can imagine you are concerned about your son's safety. And, of course you will miss him a lot. With the high tech world we live in you can keep in touch over the computer. And, if you both have Skype, you can see each other too. Take good care. ~Hugs~ Nancy
