And I thought February would start out quietly...

Wednesday, February 02, 2011

After a horrendous January with LOTS of family angst going on, I was so glad to see the month behind us. Enter February...and a blizzard. Yep, we are snowed in today and now have more shingles on the ground than on the roof (said in jest, although my husband picked up a bunch of shingles that were scattered and some of them aren't even ours!) The winds are gusting anywhere between 30-50 mph. I've included some pictures below for you to get an idea. Yes, the two cars you see at the neighbor's house has one of them covered in snow almost to the roof.

After the snow pictures, there are pics of Finnegan who has just about had it with this white stuff. We had to put him in his jacket just to see him outside because he, too, is white, and this poor guy was literally trying to swim through a huge drift of snow. We all watched him doggie paddle for a couple seconds and then he was able to jump. Luckily some of the yard is lower in snow for him to do his business (although he "insisted" on his usual spot, which happens to have 6 foot drifts). Anyway, he loves to sleep with an eye mask, so you'll get to witness that hilarity below. I did it one day as a joke, and he stretched out with a contented groan and went to sleep for 2 hours!

I'm off to don my winter gear to go help the boys with the snow removal (of course, it's just temporary because everything they've plowed is already drifting over). At least this futility will burn some calories. emoticon

I am shocked that there is so much snow, and have no idea how you can live with that. That being said, I was born in So Cal 3 blocks from the beach, and never had to deal with "winter". You have my deepest sympathy for this, I must be blessed. It is really crazy, we had almost 80 degrees last week, and this is supposed to be winter here too. I think the weather is going crazy.

Like I said under his picture.....THIS FINNY HAS POOCHIE POWER!!!!!!!! You should put him on UTube dogpaddling the snow! I know it's not really funny being snowed in. We have snow, but not that much. Even my son left Chi town for LA. haha.
I think you should fix Finny a full body garment including his little butt. Brrrrr!
Thanks for sharing these adorable pics, Shannon. emoticon

I feel for ya girl! We used to remove snow for commercial lots. It was so crazy. It reminds me of the blizzard we had there on New Years Day think it was like 10 or so years ago when we got 22 inches. It was so crazy. I hope you stay warm.
    Big hugs

    P.S. Love love the photos!

I love the picture of Finn aka Snoopy Joe Cool! He looks comfy curled up with his new eyewear on! ^..^

Wowzer, you weren't kidding when you said that you got a bunch of snow. That snow blower looked like a toy next to the snow bank. At least you were able to get some of the driveway cleared but I'm sure that you expended a lot of effort to just get that much of a pathway cleared. It would be disheartening to work that hard and have the wind blow it back onto the cleared area. Hopefully, it will move on out the area and you can get back to just a few inches of snow like it is suppose to be. emoticon

I laughed for a good 2 minutes at Finn and his eye covers. What a little diva! Takes after his dad I take it.

Sorry for all the snow darling. It was 74 degrees here today. I was sweating in my sweat pants. Blech!!

Loved the dog pics! Just has to rest after all the effort it took to use the "outdoor bathroom".

I also liked the pic of the cleared driveway, with 2-3 ft of snow on the road. Good luck going anywhere! I know you're probably tired of all the snow but it looks like fun from where I am, no snow and no hope of a 'snow day'. Oh well, it's back to work I go...

Love it! I grew up in Northeast Ohio so I know what snows like that are like. Of course I enjoyed them more as a kid because of snow days and sled riding!

The dog is hilarious! Beauty sleep!
