We received 17" of snow last night along with high winds making for blizzard conditions. Jim and I did not go to the office meaning I was stuck at home. I have a run to do and procrastinate heading to the basement to the dang treadmill. Jim decides early this afternoon that he had enough and wanted to venture out in our 4 wheel drive truck to see how our office faired through the blizzard. I decide to go along and we take Lucy. Of course, she is excited when I grab the leash but in her mind eventually this meant was probably a trip to the vet. She is shaking but yet enjoying the ride.

After perusing the neighborhood on our little adventure, I decided the hell with it I am going to layer up and run OUTSIDE. If kids were playing in the huge snowdrifts, I could run. Duh. So I get all layered up along with my gizwitchies and YT and head out the door. The weather conditions were as follow: 18, NW 20 G 23 MPH, wind chill -4. Totally doable!

With camera in hand I head out and I LOVED it! The streets were perfect for YT as I could get solid footing. The sun was starting to shine and the neighbors who were out digging there driveway out looked at me like I had totally finally lost my mind. They knew it was just a matter of time LOL.

My running stats:
4 miles
46:22 (varied intervals)
11:35 ap
377 cal burned
splits: 11:39, 11:30, 11:35, 11:35

Here are photos to help illustrate the snow.

Several photos shows my typical neighborhood running route and I know just about every nook and cranny.

Jim and I leave exactly 3 weeks from today for Disney World so I can run HM #2 and earn the finisher's medal I have dreamed about since I started running June 2009. I will also FINALLY meet several fellow Spark runners that are part of my support system. Needless to say, I am giddy...seriously giddy. This has been a long winter for HM training but I just know in my heart that it will make me a stronger runner. Today, I was HARDCORE!

Until next time...
