Wow, it's been a while...

It's crazy that I haven't posted a blog since June! But, I've been here...hanging out, reading others' blogs, just lurking I guess. I suppose I ought to catch everyone up on what I've been up to before I get to the purpose of this blog.
I got down to my lowest weight so far, 191.8 lbs on August 15, 2010. I don't really know what happened, because I kept seeing the scale creep back up. I was teaching 9 classes a week at the Y about 30 miles from where I live, 5 days per week. So my exercise wasn't the problem. I kinda just stopped tracking my calories and ate fast food A LOT more. Literally, on my way home from the Y, I would stop almost every day and get a #6 from Wendy's...sometimes upsized. I knew what I was doing wasn't helping things, but it was that immediate satisfaction...that and I almost never ate breakfast before I taught my classes, so by the time I was done, I felt like I was starving.
So, my husband told me that he wanted to do P90X again with me. We had tried it before, but made it through only 3 or 4 days before he quit. I was really hoping it would be different this time around. So, 1/1/11 we weighed ourselves and took our measurements. We started off day 1 of the 90 day journey with the Shakeology 3 day cleanse. It was so nice to get all that crud cleaned out of our systems. I lost 7.6 lbs and 5.5 inches in those 3 days. I was so excited! Oh, forgot to mention, on 1/1/11 my weight was at 219.4 lbs. Eeek! I know....
Ok, so we got through week 1 of P90X. Everything was going great! I had a business meeting in Indianapolis(about 2.5 hrs from where I live) on Jan. 8th and we had bad weather the night before(ice and snow.) My mom was watching my kids and the town she lives in the roads were really bad, but the interstate was fine. I got to about 2 miles from where I was going and hit some black ice. Luckily there was a car about 500 ft behind me and no cars for about 2 blocks the other direction. The nose of my car went left and then as I tried to regain control the car whipped around to the right doing 2 full 360s and the car landed on the sidewalk of my side of the road. I thought everything was fine, but by the end of that night my upper back felt like it was on fire! So, I had whiplash...something that had never happened to me before. I was advised by my massage therapist and doctor to take at least 2 weeks off from working out so I wouldn't make my back worse. I did and was miserable. So now I'm going in every 2 weeks for massages to make sure everything is good.
So, maybe I'll do a separate post about my goals for the year. This one is getting kinda long. But, real quick, just an update on how I'm doing now. My back is a lot better. I just went in for my 3rd massage yesterday. I'm starting to feel like I'm getting pampered, but I know it's for the good of my back...haha! My husband and I restarted P90X from day 1 since we weren't too far in. We finished day 16 this morning and next week is recovery week and 30 day pictures at the end of the week. I was getting kinda frustrated with the scale not going down as fast as I would've liked so I cheated today and weighed and took measurements. Since our 3 day cleanse got over(1/4/11) I've lost 1.4 lbs, 4.5 inches, and 2% body fat! So, I'm pretty happy about the inches and body fat. It makes me feel a lot better about the scale not dropping so fast, because I know that I'm becoming leaner. :)
So, expect another blog later today about my goals....ok, maybe tomorrow...lots to do today. LOL!
