I did my usual Monday morning grocery shopping. They plowed while I was gone, so had to shovel some snow when I came home before I could bring the groceries in. It wasn't much though, just some snow filling my walkway from the plow; I didn't have to shovel my steps.

No workout today, I did my strength training yesterday, and those kinds of workouts I only do every other day. No cardio today; I get too worn out if I do that on the same day that I go shopping. Hip was hurting a bit more than usual also; I think part of it was the trips up and down my porch steps to bring the groceries in; with my shoulder hurting, I'm trying not to carry stuff with my left hand, but that also makes more trips when bringing in my bags. And since the pain pills make me sleepy, I can't take them before I shop either to prevent that pain; I have to wait til I am back home and done driving for the day.

Tomorrow morning I have my chemo appointment; I'll find out then how my treatment is going to change; I'm sure it's going to be something more aggressive than the chemo I've been on since April. I'm mostly anxious about what the side effects will be; not really worried, just impatient to know. I'll also get my MRI results, so I will find out if that spot in my spine is a bone met or a fracture.

I agree with everyone else that you sure did get a work-out Shari! Look after that hip and shoulder, and have a good night's rest. Praying that all goes well for you tomorrow.

Here's an example of a fold up cart like Nancy suggested. This is 12 lbs and folds up easily. You may be able to find it cheaper, but I thought I would show you an example.

My mother has a heavy duty aluminum cart that folds up as a hand cart and down as a flat bed cart. It worked great when I've had to move in and out of apts and into my house. Though it is kinda heavy, so I know that one would be too much for you - but one like I linked above could work wonders for you.

I count shopping at the grocery store or Walmart as a walk. It IS!!

Walking up and down steps with groceries sounds like exercise to me. I am so hopeful that your chemo tomorrow goes well for you without too many side effects.

I thought I should share with you my solution for getting groceries in without a lot of pain.
I have had trouble getting groceries in too. I purchased a cart with wheels, that can be folded up when not in use. With the cart, I can bring in everything I bought at one time. Depending on how many steps you have to go up to get to your porch, you might want to consider getting a cart. I fill the cart, then park it by my stairs backwards, then go up the stairs and just reach down for the cart handle, it is easy to pull the loaded cart up a couple of steps. If you have more than 2 steps, you may be able to just pull it up the steps as you go up. My cart is very light weight, but holds a lot. It has been a lifesaver for me! I can wheel the cart right into my kitchen and unload everything. : )

I will be praying for you tomorrow as well. Hope your new chemo and the MRI results go well
for you. Have a nice evening.

You may not have done strenuous walking, but you walk when you shop - so you did get some exercise in.
    I'll be praying for you!

Glad your day went pretty well and I'm praying for your chemo trip tomorrow and the change if more agressive doesn't necessarily mean meaner side effects!
