Sunday - a rest day...

Sunday, February 13, 2011

Today I decided I needed a complete rest day. I have done something, whether it is Quickfire, Bootcamp, Insanity or running for almost 4 weeks, without a day off.

My lower back is achy, and I am tired...so as I collapsed into bed last night I decided that today would be a rest day. I knew that our schedule was going to have us running from hockey rink A to hockey rink B from 8AM until 2PM, and that the Bruins and Celtics had big games on TV this afternoon - so we had a lot going on....so I was OK with the rest.

What I hadn't planned on was slacking in my eating....but about half way home the boys started complaining about needing lunch and no one liked what I was offering up at home - so when we got off the highway there was Burger King.....and I had good intentions going in - I did - but then I ordered a Whopper Jr, no cheese....OH WAS IT GOOD....and the vanilla shake that I had with it even better. I did give up the fries to the men (only because I don't like BK fries)....and that was it for the day....calories blown.

But you know what - I'm OK with that too. For dinner I had 1/2 a tuna sandwich on my yummy low cal bread, and I am done fo rthe day....

Tomorrow is a new day - with a new set of calories to waddle through - and they will be good ones....I see salad and tomato soup for lunch and yogurt for breakfast......and chicken breast with veggies for dinner - so we are good.....

Today was a good day - we spent it as a family, and we had a lot of fun. We have added an igloo to the Winter Wonderland, and it is kind of scary to climb into - but boys love it.

The other good thing - I don't see any snow shoveling in my future.....while I loose the extra cardio - I am not missing it falling from the sky. I am ready for warmer temps and runs on the street.
