I'm Alive. I promise.

I am so sorry that I've been gone so long.
Life threw me for a CRAZY AWFUL loop. My marriage nearly ended. My family is now a statistic of unemployment in America. We moved back home to Arizona. I had to singlehandedly bring my family back from the depths into a place of semi-stability (living with gracious and giving friends, and making use of programs that can help us until we get on our own two feet again). I had to find a way to provide services and medication for my daughter who has special needs. I was sick for weeks. My youngest just got out of the hospital with pneumonia, a bladder infection, and a kidney infection. We are broke. We are heartbroken. We are struggling to keep our heads above water.
But I'm here. I'm alive. I'm wanting to focus on health as a part of reclaiming my life again.
I've lost some weight from the stress and sickness - about 10 lbs or so. More importantly my clothes are fitting better. I had to alter my pants and take out about 4" today so that they wouldn't fall off anymore. These are the pants I bought back in October that fit me perfectly then. I'm pleased to see some progress, but I'm ready to do things the healthy way again, and to be conscious of what I eat, how I exercise, and generally work toward taking care of myself, body and soul.
I am going to be doing the new Weight Watchers Points Plus plan. I can have 39 points per day. I also get 49 extra weekly points allowances as part of the plan. Fruits and veggies are zero points (except for high carb ones like potatoes, corn, peas, and avocado). I am also a soup fanatic so I'm excited about incorporating that into my diet as well. Go Weight Watchers!
My doctor wants me to exercise at least 5 hours a week so that will be added to the list too. I'm hoping to start with walking throughout our hilly neighborhood, and bringing our horse...er... i mean LARGE dog, with me on the walks.
I'm back. This time for good.
