Hey Sparkies! It's been awhile since my last blog about being sick. And I still have a cough but I'm feeling a lot better. I started feeling better just in time for one of my friend's birthday trip to St. Louis. These last few days have been awesome! Before I left I bought some news bra, down a cup size and inches off my band size, and I bought a few new shirts. I hadn't really seen a difference in my weight loss but with a lift and a tighter shirt, I look amazing! I felt so good. I was ready to see the girls :-).
I had to fly to Tulsa,OK, which is where the other five ladies live and then we drove to St. Louis. The last time I was on a plane was in 2007 and it was a 4 hour flight and very uncomfortable. My seat belt was too tight, my hips and thighs were busting out the sides...I was just a mess. But Friday morning, I sat in my seat, buckled my seat belt and enjoyed a beautiful sun rise above the clouds. I had room to move and could even cross my legs! I was so happy. When my friend picked me up from the airport she said, "You are so skinny!" I laughed and said thanks. I was really feeling good about myself. Last year 3 of us were really unhappy with our weight and decided to do something about it, we all look amazing now! We have lost a total of 135 lbs.
When we got to St. Louis we ended the night in with a questions and answers game. The next morning we took part of the free breakfast. I said I was going to enjoy myself this weekend and not over analyze my eating but not go over board to where I would regret it. Later that evening we went to a dinner theater comedy mystery at the oldest house in St. Louis. 6 women in a Chevy Cobalt... We were packed in tight! But it was fun. Dinner was amazing, I had the chicken, although I should have gotten fish, and I even indulged in a few glasses of wine. After that we went to the City Museum at 10:30 at night and climbed, crawled, slid and walked our way through the museum. I felt like a big kid! At first I was feeling like the 290 lb Courtney scared to do anything bc I may get stuck. There was a lot of little spaces and wholes to squeeze through. But I did it! I felt so accomplished after I finally did it. I felt like I had completed a 5 k race. After climbing the walking up 15 stories of stairs and twisted iron pipe, I got to slide down 10 stories feeling like the night was mine. Lol we had a really fun time.
The next day we headed home. I was only in Tulsa for a few hours so I decided to see a few family members and they were so happy to see me and proud that I had lost so much weight. It was nice to see my dad who couldn't stop smiling. I've been looking at the pictures from our trip last year and the pics from this past weekend and I'm so happy with my progress. I love the new me! Today I spent time catching up on sleep. Tomorrow, back to getting my sweat on!
