I'm Back...

Well - we have been back since Sunday - but I'm finally catching up on things...
My head is all over about what I want to blog about - so I am sorry if this is scattered and confusion.
We headed to Quebec City on Thursday for a few day...a short Winter Break getaway. We went with another family (hubby and the hubby from that family have been friends since they were 12)....It was about a 7 hour drive. Our first destination on Friday was Valcartier Tubing....OH MY was that fun, and actually provided a great calorie burn for the day. We tubed from 11:30 to 7 with a short stop for lunch. The hills that you got towed up were also able to have you walk, so my 12 yr. old and I decided that every third hill we would walk up. We did pretty good. We did the every 3rd for a while, but then decided to jump on the lift if there was no line and walk if there was one. I'd say we walked up 1/4 of the hills. The tubing is very fast and fun. They have extreme tube rides....We did a lot of walking in the city too. There are a lot of stairs to climb up and down into the lower city - and I used them - no trams for me. I managed to eat well too. Every morning we ate at a place that loaded your plate with fresh fruit. It was a great way to start the day.
We did manage to wear out the other family. They weren't able to keep up with us. That is the biggest difference between the two families. We are contantly moving, hanging outside with the kids, biking, hiking, just moving as a family. The other family does not - it was obvious on the tube mountain when they wanted to leave at 4, and then when walking in the city - we just move at a quicker pace, and had to slow down to wait for them.
I wore my Wear Fit all weekend, and did the best I could to track what I ate. I know my calories are probably not as accurate (off by a few hundred is my guess) but each day I had a defecit and that is the goal. Now that I am home, and able to track my food better, I am shooting for a 600-700 calorie defecit every day. I don't know if it is possible...but I am going to try.
I was going to discuss my Feb/March goals - but I haven't quite decided what March should hold yet - so I'll save that for another blog.
