Going Strong

Well I have made it through all my appointments for exercise. My therapists decided it would be a good idea to start in the pool for my cardio and MY what a workout! I would never be able to do 45 minutes of that intense exercise on land, but I can in the water! My joints don't bother me at all, and my arms are getting a great workout as well as my legs. I'm definitely getting my heart rate up too. I will start adding some strength training to do at home on my off days from the pool.
I have also been tracking my calories daily. For the first few days I was just adding what I would normally eat. It's amazing how much coffee creamer I really consume and how many calories it adds! Wow. I'm quite surprised by some of it. My goal now is to stay between the 1200-1500 calorie range and plan ahead for certain things like dinner with friends. During those times my goal will be to have a light breakfast and lunch so I'm not going horribly over my calories for the day. My goal is to lose weight, but more importantly make some life style changes. I don't want to feel like I'm on a strict diet, short term. That got me nowhere, except a BIGGER waist :) Time to start looking at it as this is my life style now. I LIKE it!
