Day 19 - A picture of your nicknames you have; why do you have them.
Tuesday, March 08, 2011
In my last year of high school, Canada decided to switch from dollar bills to dollar coins. Seeing that I'd already been called nickel, dime & quarter for most of my life.... it didn't shock me when I started getting called "Loonie", too. Thankfully, it didn't really stick.
I've always loved pigs. They were my favourite animals at the petting zoos. I have beanie baby pigs, banks, a hat, and a pencil sharpener - among other things. I married into my last name in 1995. When the boys were conceived, I often called them my little piglets.. but "Miss Piggy" became my permanent nickname when, in Kindergarten, one of Colin's little classmates couldn't pronounce Pigott and came out with the alternative. The teacher was horrified, I was not. I like it. Now the only person that calls me by my nickname is Amanda, my good friend and co-worker. End of story.
