Runaway Wagon....

Why is it that a few days away can cause chaos in a routine???

We spent last weekend away for younger sons hockey tournament --- I was good before we left - I even squeaked in a run on Friday before we headed out - knowing that I would not do anything in the realm of healthy eating or exercise for the next two days.

I woke up Saturday with a full blown cold courtesy of my little niece who sneezed twice in my face on Monday (thank you little one)....and just kind of felt ucky.

The tournament was great - the kids played so well. They won all four games, scored 23 goals, and only allowed 2 for the whole tournament. They brought home the big trophy...Yeah for them.

We finally arrived home Sunday night about 9:30, and it was crazy time - get ready for school the next day, unpack - you know those drills.

Monday is my day with my niece, and I struggle to get any exercise in on those days - I can't bring myself to get out of bed any earlier than I do (5:45) and I spend the evening chasing my hockey players, so by the time the day is done it is 9PM, and my body will not react well to running and then going right to bed...so I knew it would be Tuesday.

Well - it came and went, and so didn't Wednesday and here I am - Thursday - and I have managed to add a couple of pounds (too many adult beverages and carb heavy foods over the weekend)....and I have ZERO motivation....

I have to snap out of this - or it will be a bad scene - so after I finish this I am going to attack the house that has been neglected all week and hopefully get my groove back on by building up a good sweat doing the cleaning....it's a soup to nuts kind of cleaning that needs to be done...

Everything has fall behind...running, pushups, planks, bootcamp, quickfire.....not good.....

Here's to a new day.....starting NOW!

I posted a vlog about this just the other day. "Remember when: Motivation 101" because I too had fallen prey to being out of the habit. Unfortunately it just has to return to a kind of "just do it" sort of mind sent to get back on track. I'm STILL not there!!

Hopefully we'll both end up back on the track come the weekend!!

    Good luck!

Wow! Sounds like you have a busy family! I hate it when my house gets out of whack. Seems like everything starts falling apart. I hope you work up a great big sweat and that jump starts you onto a better weekend.

    I'm cheering for you! emoticon

PS. Way to go team! Gotta love big trophies!

    Congrats to the hockey champs!

Get that house whipped into shape and then you can move on to getting your workouts in again!

I think you've got the right idea. I always feel better...more in control and energized...if my house is in good order. Kudos to the hockey players!

Oh, how I so understand how you feel. Hockey, family, chores take over and there is nothing left at the end of the day (or during the day). Just clean the home and then get back into your routine. YOu can do it!!!! I see how much you have accomplished so far. Go out there!!!!

Congrats on your boys and their successes. That is so awesome and it does make you feel great for their success!!! My little guy has a tournament next weekend and both my daughter and son have playoffs too! It is a crazy season but also. I use them to push me more.

So you've been out of sorts for a few days leading to a few pounds? All is not lost. You can get back to it. Get the house in shape & then get yourself in shape. I know I can't concentrate on a workout if I'm thinking about a messy house.
That's a very impressive hockey team you've got their. How exciting.
