Vitamin D Therapy......and Cadbury Mini Eggs

I am so glad that I chose yesterday as my rest day from running. Today was UNBELIEVABLE.
It is the first time that I have run since I really decided that I was going to use the Galloway method of running. I set out with a loop to run in my mind, and how I was going to handle the intervals. I knew the loop was 3.5 miles - and that was a good loop to get into the groove with. Off I went 2X6/1, 2X5/1, 2X4/1....I didn't need the last minute of walking - I had about 1/10th of a mile left when the clocked ticked to that four minutes - so I just busted it out....3.5 miles in 35 minutes and some seconds.
It felt so good to have the sun in my face, my sunglasses on, and the breeze giving me a little cooling every now and then. I did dress too warm, but at least I was layered so I was able to take off the long sleeve layer and go short sleeves after about 20 minutes. The temp was about 42' and just about perfect.
Have you ever had Cadbury Mini Eggs???? Don't - they have addicting qualities. They are my all time favorite candy. They are a lot like M&M's...but a little different chocolate taste. They are only available at Easter time, and that is OK with me. 3 1/2 weeks ago, I saw them in the super market - and I had to have them. I purchsed the bag, put it on the shelf in my kitchen, and there it has stayed....until last night....hubby spied them, opened them into a pretty crystal bowl, and left them there....they just stared at me....eat me....eat me....I'm open....it's OK....
I did well last night - I ate 3 little eggs....tracked them even....added them as a favorite food, because I knew - no matter how much I fought it - they were there....so.....yep --- today - after that fantastic run....I ate a whole serving....They are tracked, and I am determined to not go over calories for the day....but yep - I ate them....Stupid mini eggs....thank goodness the kids like them too - because they are gone now.....whole bage - between the 4 of us - GONE.....but that's ok....
Had to run to get yogurt at the store again - and I grabbed another bag - I've tucked them into the cabinet so no one can see them - and there they will stay ---- for a time when reward is mine.....but not yet....
I wrote yesterday about Quinoa pilaf....it is yummy - today I finished it for lunch - and I added some ground turkey breast to make it a meal. YUMMO....I had the turkey all browned in the fridge waiting for a use - so I hadn't seasoned it for anything inparticular --- had I thought ahead, I might have added a touch of garlic to it - to jazz it a bit - but it was a great add.....it was also very filling...and at 468 calories....2 servings of veggies, 25g protien, 15g fat, and 58g carbs, it was very rewarding.
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.....Enjoy !
