It's all about me

Two years ago this month, I became a member of Spark. I’ve been on and off a few times and I always enjoy being here; it's a great website and a wonderful tool. Well, I’ve lost a little, then I’ve gained a little; never anything significant either way (my bad)... but it's all good. Then, at 4am this morning, I had a revelation; something that made me say, hmmmmm... The revelation was: THIS JOURNEY IS ABOUT ME, FOR ME. Yes, ME!
...I like the thought of getting and staying fit for my wonderful hubby but at the end of the day, it’s only MY blood, sweat and tears going into it, literally. When my hubby was a young man, he was a serious body-builder with only 3-4% body fat (is that possible???). He doesn’t work-out anymore but he maintains his weight very well. He doesn’t have any food addictions, he rarely over-indulges, and because he doesn’t like sweets, he doesn’t have a problem skipping desert. Needless to say, he is very disciplined, --and it is VERY tough living with him, lol!
The extent of his participation in my dieting, exercising, and weight-watching affair are his constant gifts of work-out clothes, shoes, accessories, and equipment; constant emotional support & motivation; the occasional ‘stroll’ down the street; and… nope, that’s about all, that's the extent of his participation. He kindly leaves the hard work to me. :(
All that said, he’s still a great guy. And I do love him, oh so much! :)
Anyways, my ‘revelation’ wasn’t the disappointing, shocker type. It was more like a calm, gentle friend taking me by the hand and saying, ‘Let’s do this Girl. Let’s get honest with each other and step it up a notch... seriously this time... because you deserve it". So I got up out of bed, poked around on the website, made a few changes on my SparkPage, then I got on my treadmill and walked for 45 minutes. As I walked, I mentally made a plan of how I’m going to ‘spark’ things up a bit; stay focused & committed; and finally see those ‘significant’ results.
1) Getting on the website and connecting with others DAILY, is a must.
2) Exercising and watching my intake is a more-must. And
3) Loving me and BEING TRUE to me is a most-must.
So, here's to never-ever-ever giving up and always staying fresh.
'Cause after all, IT IS... all about me. :)
