Day 3 - Crazy start to my day!

So today I slept through my alarm and missed my spinning class. I use my cell phone as an alarm- the 1 beep mode - usually it is enough to wake me, but today it went off 4 times before I heard it... which made me too late to get up and get to class on time. I decided (or used the excuse... however you want to look at it) I must need some sleep and decided to sleep for the extra hour. Of course by this time, I was already awake and just layed there... ugh. I should have just worked out with a treadmill or in my basement.

Anyway, So I finally get up and go through our normal morning drama routine. My 5 year old has been extremely poky getting ready in the morning since school started back up after spring break. I just can't keep her on task. I send her to her room to go put on shoes, and she goes in there and plays with her Barbies... So today after several yells across the house to gets ready for school we are almost out the door. I step outside and see the bus driving by my house. we have to go 4 blocks to the bus stop so needless to say the next 5 minutes were pure chois. We got to the bus stop on time, barely... I had to flag down the bus as it pulled away.

Work went pretty good. I stayed candy free again all morning. At lunch I had a fudge bar (it was only 60 calories), but then stayed candy free until 4:00. Definately an improvement from the last weeks/days.

After work I asked the girls if they wanted to go pick up groceries or go to the gym (there is a kids gym play area for them). Usually they are luke warm about the kids gym, but today they wanted to go. I figured it was a sign that I HAD to get my workout in for the day:). I went to Cardio Drill, which is not my favorite class, but it did open my eyes to a few things:

1. Doing spinning alone, although it is a great cardio workout, is not enough. The jumping moves killed me tonight.

2. My new black and orange kicker pants are super cute, but my winter white calves are not ready to wear them.

    Good job on getting the workout in somewhere - that is what counts. Guess you will have to get more than a single beep :-) I have gotten a cool song cd to play in my cd alarmclock to make me want to get up and move. Going to try it as soon as I find my alarm clock directions to set it to play CD instead of alarm.

    I ate terrible yesterday - good choices, just a lot more quantity than I should - but NO gain! I did a lot of walking shopping and then walked an hour in the evening too. Its a start!

    Remember, occassional treats are ok if we are honest w/ourselves about it and keep it in moderation. If you can't - dont start.

    Keep moving forward - you are doing it! My legs are white all year it seems. I used to tan easily and nicely as a kid, not so much now! I am not outside as much though now either and I am a cancer paranoid person anymore, so I use lots of sunscreen! :-)

    Sounds like what was shaping up to be a bad day you were able to turn around into a great one. That's my girl :)
