I saw a blog today asking how to stay motivated when the going gets tough. I'll admit that's always been hard for me. It's easier to give up and go back to the comfort of the food I know and love so well. And, Heaven help me, I hate reading about foods that will help me lose weight, it makes me so hungry! Tonight was not such a good night, diet-wise, either. The scale only budged half a pound for this week. I tried to buck myself up by telling myself that a half pound may be a baby step, but it's a baby step in the right direction, but I was still disappointed.

Frodo was told by Galadriel, I think it was, that he would find courage and friendship where it was least expected, and sometimes it works that way with motivation, too. I came to work tonight not expecting anything special, when one of my co-workers said it looks like I've lost some weight. I thanked her politely and told her I've been on a diet and , when she asked, I told her about Sparkpeople.

Inside, however, my Spirit was jigging! Heehaw, someone noticed! Disappointment be damned! To celebrate, I threw in an extra 5 minutes of dancing for my cardio--I had a reason to dance, after all. Okay (deep breath) I'm ready to hit it again!

(Heh, my inner ballerina can't dance worth a darn, but what the heck? I just wind her up and let her go, sometimes it just feels good to move.)
