My first bad day.

Sunday, April 03, 2011

I had my first REALLY bad day yesterday! I was so disgusted with myself that I ate more. I am hoping I can turn it around and get back in the swing of things. I am having a birthday dinner here today, so that will make it even harder. I want this SO bad! but it is so hard to turn years of poor eating around. But I CAN do this, thank for listening.

Yes, you CAN do it! I have maintained for over 2 years and I still have bad days and I know I always WILL have bad days. But you get back on track right away (don't wait till next week, next month, etc.) Take small steps and remember that you can't do it all at once, but over time, persistence will make all the difference!

Hey, I am 75+ and a member of Spark for 3 years and am still learning. I thought I was an expert dieter since I have done it for more than 60 years. Just lately I realized I have finally mastered losing a pound or two and I don't splurge to celebrate!
That is because on Spark I eat the peanut butter, some chocolate, and ice cream if I want. So there is no reason to cheat. The soft banana ice cream (Spark recipe from Stepf) is better than ice cream and I have it several times a week.
Don't beat yourself up because you had a bad day. Everyone does that at some time. Just forge ahead and call on any of us for support if you need.
Writing this blog was a great step forward!

Saturday was not a good day for me either. Read my blog and you will see you are not alone!

The important thing is to learn from the experience and put it to use as you move forward. One day is not going to change anything, unless you let it. We are all human and will have our ups and downs! So, put a smile on today and enjoy!

Don't let one bad day ruin your progress. So you had a bad day, make today different. If you want this bad enough you will do it. Today is a new day...make it count!

Just be sensible at the birthday party. Think about everything that will go into your mouth so that at the end of the day you know you were successful!

I wish you well! emoticon emoticon
