Goals

Wednesday, April 06, 2011

I've had a whiteboard on my desk for quite some time now, with every major (and some minor!) goals spelled out. I've achieved quite a few, and those have a bright green date next to them to remind me of when I made it.

Every 10lbs is a reward.

I started at 230, and lost about 20 before joining Spark People. (I had a rather serious kidney infection, couldn't keep down food. after I healed up, I just kinda ran with it)

I joined SparkPeople on August 15th or so, and got right on down to business.

When I got/get to:

200lbs: Achieved! New running shoes. Sept 2/10

190lbs: Achieved! (and really, my first 10% with spark people) New workout outfit. Oct 1/10

180lbs: Achieved once, before slipping up again (ruh-roh) First time around, I rewarded myself with a new shirt. I was preparing for a trip to New Zealand, so getting something non-hiking related was a treat. It's the shirt I was wearing in the 175lb shot in my photos.. where I'm showing off the newly formed guns.

But! Since New Zealand went straight to my belly (sigh. simply paris, I will never forget you.) and shot me back up to 191 from 172 (yikes!)..NEW GOAL!!

180lbs: New running shoes and a digital camera, so I can run more and take photos of everything I'm doing and making.

170lb: Haircut! I haven't gotten a cut since June last year. Time for something cute!

160lbs: For this, I'm torn between getting p90x or joining a dojo and learning martial arts. Either way, this goal is meant to kick my rear into high gear for the next 30lbs!

150lbs: A new outfit, including a pair of jeans. And a new bra.

140lbs: You might fun this funny.. but my 140lb goal is new socks. Possibly ones that come up to my upper thigh and STAY there. I've always wanted this. Yes, I'm a dork. I'm also a goth, who likes her socks (darn it.)

Between 130-140 and hold for 3 months: New wardrobe, to be pieced together on a few shopping trips with friends. And if I haven't done it yet, to sign up for a 5k race.

Fitness goals/milestones I'm tracking:

Leg press at 250lbs (currently 230 is TOUGH)

Bench press 100lbs (currently working at 50, about to move up to 60)

15 GOOD push-ups (I can do about 5 shallow push ups in fairly terrible form)

5 Pull-ups (currently: none. I can kinda dangle there, but that's it, and it hurts.)

Run a 5k

Run an 8k

Run a 10k

Run a half marathon (By the time I'm 30! [I turn 27 in may])

Those are my goals! What are yours?

Nice goals Margy. I like the running ones a lot...mostly because I am not a runner and am jealous of those of you that can or are starting to do this.

    Nice on the wts too!
