Results- Week 3

Thursday, April 07, 2011

I have been at this new eating plan now for three weeks. Week 1, I was perfect- no cheating, total discipline. 7.2 pounds just disappeared.

Week 2 was vacation. A tough time to be on plan- but I really did great. I exercised every single day, tracked my food in my notebook, and aside from a bite here or there, I did great. I came home to a 2 pound loss.

Week 3- has been a tough week. I am feeling bored and frustrated. I have been busy, so it has been a little bit harder to track everything. Mostly, though, I am giving in too much- I have been good for a while and feel like I should get a reward...and food has always been my reward! I was able to maintain my loss and officially post the 2 pound loss, so overall since I have started, I have lost almost 10 pounds. I started at 174 and weighed in today at 164.6

I just need to hit my stride again and keep moving forward! I am feeling good because my scale has been stuck for so long, so seeing it move in the right direction is a truly happy thing! So, today is day 1 of week 4 and I plan to make it a success!

I know I can do it- I just need to WANT to do it!!

PS- part of my plan is being accountable on my Sparkpage- so putting this all in writing will make me think harder when the peanut butter jar is talking to me!!!

We all have weeks where we get bored and decide to have just a nibble here and there and then we get lax and blow it....all the suggestions here are fantastic, I write down everything, and journaling is important to my weight loss attempts. I find if I'm not writing things down then I'm gaining...Keep moving forward and I'll keep writing!!! emoticon and ten pounds lost is just fantastic!! emoticon emoticon

Ok so you just got back from Vacation (did awesome might I add) & the real worlds-same old day with it's many ups & downs has set in. So step back into Week 1's mind game & start tracking & exercising again. You moving forward means the old scale moves downward--Happy Reward if I must say so myself.
Ah yes, it is so easy for me to preach & then go stick my hand in the cookie jar. Do you think if we duck-tape the lids on it'll make us think a bit harder or just work a bit harder to get into!
Either way it'll give us more time to reach for something else!
Hang in there~I'm counting on you catching back up with me & dragging me to the finish line with you! So Now You Have To Do It !!!!!

YOU ARE DOING IT ~~ Why ~~ BECAUSE YOU CAN DO IT

10 pound loss?!! That's awesome! WAY TO GO!! I totally can relate to the rewarding of food....it seems like that's my first urge, too! Let's try to reward ourselves without food...maybe new clothes or a manicure or something non-perishable! ;) Keep up the great work! You got that scale moving in the right direction, just keep it going! You got this!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

OK Ang, listen...write down some mini-goals, and with each one choose a reward for yourself that is not food. Post that list somewhere where you see it every day, and look at it often. Plan your rewards with thought...what will the weather be like? Will you be wearing sandals, so a pedicure would be a great idea? Or going somewhere special to enjoy the weather (even if it's just for a walk in the park). The rewards don't need to be big or expensive, just things that will make you happy and that are special to you. You are doing soooo great, you can NOT stop now. Think of how wonderful you felt to lose that weight so far, and how great it will be when you lose more!! Don't forget to plan your food ahead of time too...even if it's just one day ahead. That will really help to keep you on track and help you avoid grabbing whatever is there. Eat frequently and keep yourself busy between meals...if you need to, make a list of things that you need to get done or errands you need to go on. Come on, Ang...keep plugging along and envision yourself this summer feeling better and looking HOT!
I'm with you every step of the way.

Oh that stinking peanut butter jar! Mine screams at me sometimes! Sounds like you are doing very well and remember as you lose, your body will adjust and some of that weight loss will change (slow down) so don't be frustrated. Just keep going!
