Feeling cruddy with a sore throat

Thursday, April 07, 2011

Started coming down with a sore throat last night. Still, I was able to get to sleep with no problems, and slept well, but woke up feeling even sicker this morning. It's a real bummer, because I'm having a good day for once with the pain issues, haven't had to take a pain pill so far today, only to be sidelined by a sore throat.

I've been drinking tea with honey in it, and I've had chicken soup too. Can't do orange juice because it's too hard on my stomach. I don't know if I am getting a cold or if it's allergies, but it could be allergies because about 2 days ago I started getting pollen alerts in my email. I can't take allergy meds because of the side effects, and I've tried just about all of them, over the counter and prescription.

The weather is beautiful today; in the low 50's and sunny. I tried to pick up some of the debris in the yard from the winter, but was only able to work on it a few minutes. It was hurting my back, and with the cold symptoms felt light headed. That's also when my tummy started to feel icky from Tuesday's chemo. So I gave up and went back inside for the day.

I thought about trying a short stability ball workout, but I just don't have the energy for it today. I will try to tomorrow if my symptoms are better.

Hope now that the weekend is here that you are feeling a little better.
My allergist has given me nasal sprays for my allergy symptoms. Are you able to use that?

Rest is right! Keep up with the hot tea and chicken noodle soup. emoticon

I have a head-chest cold and I have been hearing a lot of people are sick now. I am praying for you, that this cold will not affect your chemo or make you sicker because of the chemo.

Rest and drink hot fluids. emoticon emoticon

Please listen to Puddlecrazy! Rest and pamper yourself! Chemo does take such a toll on your body and then add on top of it either allergies or a cold - YIKES! God Bless and Take Care of yourself, my dear friend!! Prayers of healing are being sent your way!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Nice about the sleep! Small gifts but so important. Maybe that helped with the pain.

It's too bad to feel sick just when the weather is starting to get nice. Is does sound like it could be allergies. My eyes have been itchy and watery most of the day and I think it's allergies.

Pudlecrasy has great ideas, love the tea and honey, but I put lemon in it, too! Sometimes just a mixture of honey and lemon is the best thing to swallow.

Take care of yourself, my friend. Chemo leaves it hard for your immune system to kick in and do its job. Pamper yourself, get plenty of rest and drink water, water, water.

I hope you feel better soon.
