Sipping tea, listening to the ticking of clock, refrigerator running, and the cats lazily sleeping in the late afternoon sun, I enoy the tranquility of this day. Rarely am I alone able to be with only my own thoughts. But today is the day!
The golden afternoon rays flicker through the unadorned trees. They stand tall and proud just waiting for Spring to dress them again. I love watching the squirrels jumping from tree to tree. Robrin Redbreast has finally made his appearance.
Spring is almost here. Maybe that is also a sign of change for me.
Today has been one of reflection - reading diaries written long ago by my grandmother and grandfather, then later my mother. The diaries were not of reflective nature, more of a daily account of what they did, who they saw - interesting to read about the places that were once here and now are not.
I live in the same town as my father, my grandfather, my great grandfather, and so on - since the conception of this town. Three of my four grandparents were born and raised in this county. In fact this whole county of Oxford holds their history. It is just an amazing thing to think about how many millions of people had to have come together to make the miracle that I am.
So bless all of you who made me the person I am today! I love my life! And yes, solitude is good thing as long as you are not in it all the time!
Off for an afternoon stroll down the street.
