The quest for a routine

I've just been thinking back on times I was able to lose weight and exercise regularly. The commonality was getting into a routine and staying with it. At the time I had a Monday through Friday job with regular hours. Now, the days I work, the number of hours I work, and the times I work are far from regular or predictable. I was thinking setting a routine for days off and one for days on, but just haven't been able to make it work.
