Rollerblading roller coaster.

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

SO I have a story. Yesterday I tried my hand at rollerblading. Not just normal rollerblading but rollerblading pushing my 2 year old, Declan, in his stroller. My sister in law and I went to the bike path down by the river. It was a little hilly, but things were going smoothly until we came to a little hill that headed directly towards the river. Ok sure it led more to the brush before the river, but all I saw was water. I lost a little bit of control down this hill while trying to move my blade sideways to slow myself. I should have never have tried to do that. I ended up in the grass. The stroller was not stopping. I freaked. Like I said before, all I saw was the river. I pulled the stroller down with me when I went down. So we stopped in a crumble on the side of the path. Declan was screaming. Scared not hurt. I got up, got him out, rocked him and loved him, then put him back in. The funniest part of this story is now every time we go down a hill he screams as if he was on a roller coaster. I know I know I guess its not funny, but you would laugh if you were there too. My poor traumatized baby because I over reacted. I'm such a klutz!

I'm just glad you didn't end up in the river. Then he really would have been traumatized. What a great story! :)

When you said you were going down a hill on wheels, I kinda pictured that scene in Big Daddy where the homeless man goes down the hill in a shopping cart and lands in the water!!! I'm so glad that didn't happen to you and the kiddo!!!!
