Fabulous Friday

Friday, May 20, 2011

I am not sure why I named it that!! It is raining...again. But I slept 8 hours and I feel fabulous!! I guess that is where Fabulous Friday comes from on my blog today!! emoticon I tell you that sleep does wonders for me!!

Well, the PA thinks it is still muscle/skeletal problem. She gave me more flexiril and ask me to research trigger point injections. So...I am going to do that. Then I made an appt. with a resident that will be leaving soon. The appt. is in two weeks. I really like Dr. Evans, so I am not worried that she is a resident. She has done a really good job caring for me...so I do trust her. And if I can take a steroid injection in the knee or foot with a huge long needle...I think I can handle a small, fine needle in my muscle. I hope so anyway. Especially if it helps!! Anyone have any experience with trigger point injections...Kayli..are you out there. Give me your opinion!! I know you read my blog and I trust what you would say. I also will research it online. emoticon

My friend is having her shoulder replaced next Thursday. It is her right shoulder this time. They are going to give her extra help at home and I will be right next door if she needs anything. Also her son and daughter are coming from Great Falls next weekend and will be here on Saturday. I am hoping they keep her in the hospital until Saturday. She only stayed 1 night with her left shoulder, but I think this one is going to be a bit different. emoticon
Anyway, she already discussed with them what pain pills made her sick last time and told them she wouldn't take them. They said that is her option. They will offer her something different. I didn't go to the hospital last year when she had it done...but this year I am bringing up a fan for her room and all her stuff, so her part-time caregiver doesn't have to carry it around. She has another client after Linda, so she will have to leave after awhile. I will go up after they assign her a room and she is settled. I am glad she is having it done. She was waiting for the weather to get better and stop snowing. Hopefully it won't snow now!!! She is a little worried about making it up the 1 flight of stairs to her apartment. I think if her son is here, he may have to help her more than she is used to when going up the stairs.

Anyway, I didn't track my food on SP yesterday...but I did write it down...so will enter it later today. I think I did okay and I didn't eat that much yesterday.
emoticon Wednesday I wrote it down and then put it in the tracker yesterday. I went over on my fat grams...but was under on my calories. And I just realized I forgot to weigh myself this morning! I better go do that right now. emoticon

I am feeling a little stiff today...probably because of the rain!! And I didn't get up at 5 am and take my celebrex and tylenol. I just took it about 30 minutes ago...so it really hasn't had time to fully kick in yet. I am going to swim today!! I hope it doesn't hurt...I am still pretty tender. But I waited 2 weeks and 2 days and I am itching to get into the pool!! i haven't exercised much this week...I might even go earlier to ride the bike and do the nu-step. I did get a couple DVD's from the Library. Although, I must admit, I haven't used them yet. And I do have the Wii. I'll tell you that Thursday is a really long day...and last night I sat for 1 hour and watched the finale of Grey's Anatomy...so I was in no mood to exercise...I just went to bed when that was over. I was so....tired!! I do not exercise at night. I just don't have it in me and I get too tired after taking my medication. So during the day I exercise...and if I don't...I try to do better the next day!!

My plan for today is to go volunteer at NAMI of Billings...I am the person that takes care of their library. I love doing it!! Then I am going to go to the YMCA. I am going to ride the bike...and do the nu-step, if I have time before water aerobics. Then I am going to come home and do some chores. Then I will go to my friends and I am housesitting for them tonight. Tomorrow I go see my sister and go to her step-daughter's graduation party. Sunday is her graduation. I am really excited to see Paula. Her kitchen is done and she has some of her things moved into it. She has the guest room ready for me and I am the only one staying there this weekend. Woo Hoo!! A road trip!! It is only 2 hours...but it is still great to be able to go see her!!

So remember...it is what you make it!! Make it great!!

Eight hours of sleep! Awesome!!! Thanks for the shout-out in your blog!! From what I understand about trigger point injections, they are probably a good option to try. They don't necessarily heal whatever's wrong, but they may give you enough relief to not feel miserable. I'm not sure what you've tried to correct this, but if you go to www.uptodate.com/patients and search for "neck pain" there is a lot of good information about neck pain. It's not certain that the trigger point injections will help, but I think the risk of harm is pretty low - so probably would be a good option to try.

Yay for swimming!!! Super fun!! Hope you have a good time at the graduation celebration this weekend! I'll be going back home for my little sister's graduation, so I won't be back on SP till Monday. I'll catch up with ya then, though!!

    Have a good weekend!
