Yesterday was a very long day. There is road construction on the way down here and it was a terrible part of the trip!! As I said, part of the trip, the rest was great! It is an easy trip to come down here and the Graduation Party was great!! Ashley received some nice gifts and received quite a bit of money. Paula and Susan had made a taco lunch...and it was really good. I don't usually eat ground beef or regular corn chips...but I topped it off with lettuce and salsa. I drank mostly water and had a glass of crystal light mixed with lemon lime soda. Before they put the food away, I had another taco salad...since that is basically what I did was make a salad and neither time did I take a tortilla. I did eat one brownie...a dark chocolate one! It was delicious! I only had one and was proud of myself!
We cleaned up the rec center, where the party was held, and then went to Paula and Terrel's. Paula and I talked and went through some of our Mom's things. We got a plastic tote ready for me to take home with me. It has tea pots...that our Mom collected and a few things she made...like a very pretty bunny. I have two at home, but they are bigger and this one is very pretty and smaller. Not sure where I will put it, but it is nice to have. Paula also gave me a knife set, a toaster, some measuring cups...and I forget what else. Paula and Terrel have both been married before, so they combined their kitchens. Paula has recently gotten kitchen things out of storage....to put in her new kitchen. And oh what a beautiful her kitchen she has now!! She and Terrel designed it and Jimmy, her son, has done most of the work on it. It is light with high ceilings and lots of room!! Their old kitchen was so small compared to the new one. They also added a room below it. They haven't decided if that room will be a family room or a guest bedroom. Anyway, Paula has it fixed up very nice and like I said it is beautiful!! If I can figure out how to post pictures...maybe I will add one to a future blog.
Well, I was awake at 5 a.m. I just don't sleep well on other beds anymore. Not since I got my foam mattress. I sleep so good on it...when I sleep that is!! Anyway, after 2 hours in the car yesterday...I was pretty sore last night. I did get 6 hours of sleep. It is better than the 4 I got on Friday night when I was house sitting at my friends!! Like I said, I sleep best on my bed!!
So, I just finished tracking my food intake for the past 3 days. Because I had ground beef and corn chips twice yesterday...I think I went over on my fat intake. Not by much...and I was under on my calorie count. We had a smoothie last night and I got my fruit in for the day! I didn't have any all day...and it was really good! We used black berries, a banana, a mango, yogurt, ice and protein powder. It sure was tasty!! I got my fruit in for the day. And I really needed a snack last night...I ate the last time at 3 pm. We just got so busy going thru Mom's things...that food wasn't on my mind!! Amazing! That hasn't always been the case. Food was usually on my mind 24/7!! It feels good to be able to say...I don't think of food all the time anymore. I use it as nutrition and not comfort...most of the time. I measure out portions...and I am pretty good at keeping track of what I eat through out the day. This used to back fire on me when I tried to lose weight in the past. The keeping track part. I was constantly thinking of food...because I was keeping track of everything. Now, not so much. Now it is a normal part of my day to keep track.
Well, I guess this is long enough and it is almost 7 am. I can take my medication now...and maybe my back will quit hurting. I am not looking forward to the construction on the way home. I know it is Sunday....but it is not the workers, but the road. They have it down to dirt and it is full of pot holes...for miles!! Hopefully, the grader I saw yesterday made it a ways down the road and it will be a little smoother on the way home!! I can hope, anyway!
Have a great Sunday...and remember...it is what you make it!!
