Going back inside | Return to the gym

I love my heart rate monitor. It keeps me accountable to myself. When I go out for a walk and think I had a good workout because 5th street hill is so tough to get up at the end, it reminds me that the rest of the walk was pretty...pedestrian.
This morning I decided to go into the gym instead of a walk. Upon arrival I go tot talk with a woman that I used to work there with 10 years ago. She is always encouraging and made me feel good as I walked off after we talked about my current pursuit of a Masters in Special Education.
Anyway, I did intend to lift weights this morning. I am still having trouble getting over the fact that I'm 40 lbs heavier with a lot more body fat compared to what I was when I worked there. Getting back into it I don't want to have to do it in front of the people I used to encourage train (there are still some left). I know...get over myself. I'm working on it.
Back to the heart rate monitor thing. I got on the Elliptical this morning and left with the ball rolling again. More than an extra 200 calories burned in that 1/2 hour compared to the walk outside. Sounds much more efficient to me.
So I have returned to the gym. At least I have today and I plan to tomorrow. The ball is rolling.
