As braddah IZ used to say: "Starting all over again is gonna be rough..."

Saturday, May 28, 2011

Hey there Sparkers. I know, I know, I am back after almost a year off. I got pregnant and totally fell off the wagon. I tried, but between morning sickness and the absolute most powerful surge of hormones I've ever been hit with, it just wasn't happening. I gained all my weight back. I am now at 179 lbs. and my daughter will be 6 months old next week. I was 20 lbs. heavier then this after I gave birth. I am training Jiu jitsu and kickboxing again, and I will sign Sunny up for Kids Club @ 24 hour fitness next week so I can start weight lifting again. I still haven't started jogging again, but I will. Just need to get out the door!

I know I can lose the weight again. I am far more flabby this time around, but I am also more stubborn. I am still @ reign Training Center but I am only doing volunteer shifts so I can care for my daughter and focus on getting back in shape. I have a great workout support system and my husband is being awesome working out with me and helping me with dieting.

I will also confess something to you all that I don't think I have ever admitted to anyone else but my husband and a few friends: I want to fight, even if I just do an amateur fight. I think it's because I have felt like people have been telling me "No you can't" my whole life and I am just sick of it. Training is something that has improved my life and I want to get back to that and push it to the next level. I am not one to back down from any challenge! I WILL be in shape again!

This song was is going to be my theme song for the next 6 months.

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole~ Starting All Over Again

Starting all over again
Is gonna be rough
For us,
But we're gonna make it.

Starting all over as friends
Is gonna be tough
On us,
But we gotta face it.

We lost what we had
That would hurt us so bad,
Set us back a thousand years.
But we're gonna make it up,
Though I know it's gonna be tough
To erase the hurt and fears.

Starting all over again
Is gonna be hard,
But I pray to the lord
To help us make it.

Starting all over again
Is gonna be slow,
But we both know
We gonna make.

We gotta take life as it comes
Never fuss about it,
What's right or wrong.
It's an uphill climb to the finish line
But we gonna try, we gonna try
Just one more time.

Starting all over again
Is gonna be hard
On us,
But we can make it.

Starting all over again
Is gonna be tough.
We both know
We gonna make it.

We gotta take life as it comes.
Don't make any fuss about it,
What's right or wrong.
We gonna make it up,
Though I know it's gonna be rough
To erase the hurt and fears.

Starting all over again
Is gonna be rough
For us,
But we gonna make it.

Starting all over as friends
Is gonna be rough
On us,
But we gotta face it.

Don't sweat wanting to fight. Believe it or not, it's not just a "guy" thing. You will be a gentler person out of the ring, believe it or not, if you're able to focus on what to do in the ring. That focus will affect your personal life and teach you patience, control, and concentration.

Don't worry about the weight, either. You've got a fantastic (from the sounds of it) support network. You are going to go quite the distance!

    Yay YOU!

Every day is a new day and a new start - if you want it that way. Go for it and enjoy the trip.
