207 days to go - learning more about myself everyday
Sunday, May 29, 2011
So far today has been a great day. I got my outdoor running shoes and went for what I thought would be a short 30 minute run. I was pleasantly surprised that over 5 miles later and 60 minutes - I had more than out done what I intended to do. I had not been able to run outdoors since my Achilles tendon tear last fall. I didn't realize how much I missed running outside. I'm sure tomorrow I will be sore but it will be so worth it.
One of the many problems I have been having lately is my late night snacking. Not sure when that started. I swear when I lived in the states I never did that but lo and behold between 10 and 11:30 I just cannot stay away from that refrigerator. It's as if my mouth goes into overdrive. Last night, I forced myself to go to bed at 10:30 (even though I didn't fall asleep till much later). It was great. I ended up not snacking! and best of all I got up today and felt super energized - hence the out door run!
I'm hoping I can keep the momentum going. So here goes lessons I am learning:
1. My body doesn't agree with buffalo burgers
2. If I'm in bed early - I avoid late night snacks
3. I will run for a longer duration of time if I run outdoors versus indoors
