Being Thankful

Thursday, June 02, 2011

After seeing all the devastation that has ripped through our country and in other countries, I have purposed in my heart to stop sweating the small stuff. I may not have the best paying job that I desire and live in the house that I want or drive my dream car but the fact is, I’m BLESSED. We can find a million reasons to complain about but WHY? Once you sit down and really evaluate your life I bet you can honestly say that you have more than a lot of other people have. There are hundreds of people in the world who would be willing to trade places with us in a heartbeat.

I know that there are many people out there who are facing lots of different hardships but, if you ever want to put things in perspective just turn on the news, read your daily newspaper , surf the net or just go visit and talk with your neighbors and you will find out that your life is much better than most.

I hope that we stop sweating the small stuff and learn how to appreciate the family and friends that we have, the job, car, house and life that we have because, it could always be worst. Let’s stop complaining about what we don’t have, appreciate what we do have and just enjoy LIFE.

In closing, I’m requesting all of those who believe in the power of prayer to pray for all of those who have been affected directly or indirectly by all the devastation that have ravished the world.

Spread the Spark!!!

I have a friend that keeps on complaining about what's lacking or missing in his life (primarily monetary), and I'm constantly pointing out he better be thankful for what he does have before God thump him on the head and take that away so he can learn humility and gratefulness. He might want to learn from me before he has to learn the hard way. Great blog (friend #4) because its so easy to forget to be thankful...

Indeed, prayer is our best weapon against discouragement and despair. Well said.

Well said, friend! The power of prayer is amazing, and I'm not sure what I'd do without my faith!

My morning prayer includes, "Thank you for today and the opportunities it will bring. Thank you for the floor beneath my feet, the roof over my head, and everything in between!"

I appreciate your perspective and wish you a blessed day!
