My friend Pinkbeanboo has mentioned more than once the team "Challengers for Sparkers with lots to lose" and I have looked at the team, but up until today they were mid challenge, so didn't join. Today I looked and they are starting the Summer Slimdown Challenge, so I thought what a great place to start.
For the first time ever I have a starting picture and it's not pretty....can't believe I'm posting it....horrible quality to go with the horrible love handles....but this is the start.....the end will look better I hope....
One part of this weeks challenge is to come up with 5 goals for the Challenge....Here are mine:
1. Finish 10K mid Summer in 1:10
2. Run 12-15 miles per week
3. burn at least 500 more calories than consumed per day (5 days/week)
4. Track food 5 days / week
5. Keep up with my Challenge teams (and participate)
I've chosen #1 as my reward goal. If I can run my 10K in 1:10, then I will go get a pedicure...haven't had one in a year and a half.....it's time......
Now that I have updated my new page....like my runner girl????? I have to tell you about a small food victory today.
It started yesterday with my 9 yr. olds baseball game....it ended in a time after 6 innings and it was too late to continue....so we have to finish today.....this morning we wake up to an email complaining about my husbands behavior towards the umps (if you know my husband - this is not him at all) - and basically holy heck has broken loose over this -it's been a long morning....and twice I found myself reaching for the box of brownies to make up and inhale....well I didn't...instead, I put my running clothes on and went for a 3.4 mile run in the hot humid sun....it was nasty crazy gross...but I ran away the blues instead of eating away the blues. I am so proud of myself. I know this is only one victory - but others will come. I beat the emotianl eating monster.
