Fitting it all in....

Sometimes I wonder how I am going to manage to get all of the things I need to do in with the kids crazy schedules. It seems that exercise takes a back seat to things, especially on weekends.

Today was no exception. My 9 yr. old is in a hockey tournament this weekend, and he had games at 9:40 and 1:40 - so we left the house at 8AM and returned at 3:30.....the arena is not one which you would walk around in - especially if you don't want to embarrass the 9 yr. old or look like a fool - neither of which I want to do....so no exercise, except for the walking in the mall in between games...at a 9 yr. old pace.

When I arrived home, it was quick get ready for 12 yr. old baseball --- after I thought for a moment - I realized that the ball field was at a distance in which I can run too - so off the boys went with Dad, for warmups before the game, and I put onthe running clothes.....

It was a 3.72 mile run - and on a route that I would not normally go....so not only did I get my groove on - I found a new route, and didn't know every knook and cranny of it - I enjoyed it.

I am continuing on the Galloway path - and have started to increase my beginning intervals. The last couple of days I have started with 6 minute run / 1 minute walk X2, and then gone to the 4 X 1's that I have been doing. Today I did 6/1, 12/1 (I was on a street that I wanted to get off of), and then 4x1....I did the 3.72 at a 10:30 pace, which makes me very happy.

Things are going well running wise....the 10K is now 3 weeks and 2 days away....need to get some longer runs in that is for sure.
