Finally....a run....

Thursday, June 16, 2011

Come hell or high water I was running today....and I did....

Of course - I really need to think about time of day now that we are getting into the 80's for temperature around her....running in the 70 degree temps would be much nicer...but no - I didn't plan, instead I filled 50 water balloons and delivered them to school for field day tomorrow, then I got my Spark on...and before I knew it it was 10AM, and it was 80 degrees....but I didn't let it stop me....I went for it. I mapped out a 4 mile loop and off I went. My goal was to push the first 2 miles as best I could....with bigger intervals. I did 11 / 1, 10/1 for my first almost 2 miles and then broke it down to 4 /1's from there for the remaing two. My goal was under 44 minutes....I know that my running speed is about 10 minutes / mile - and walking is about 14:30, so I should be able to get the balance....my time was 43:17 YIPEE.

Although it was hard, and I had that head going to explode feeling for most of the run in the sun...it felt great. I have 2 weeks and 4 days until the 10K, and I am more confident this year than last.....look out 1:10 here I come.

Awesome job!!!! You got it in when you could have diverted and done something else!!! Great job... I am envious... Off to swim team right now... and then it will be after 8 when I get home... So proud of your time and that you got the run in even though it was later than you wanted it to be...

Wow! Way to go!!! Cooler temps might have made you faster. Just think, you would have been a blur running down the path. (giggles) I am still walking pretty slow so I'm very impressed with your numbers.

    Keep up the great work!

Yay for getting in a run...and a great run at that!

I bow to anyone who runs in the heat. I HATE it and pretty much just won't do it. I run at dawn if I'm going to run outdoors; I can't stand the sun beating down on me! I'm a wimp! emoticon
