When I tell people I have 3 kids, they don't believe me. They tell me I'm tiny. Now if you had seen my pictures 5 years ago, people would believe I had 3 kids. Now people ask, how do you do it. I tell them to start with walking and watching what you eat.
Well People...heres how I do it and my story.
5 years ago my husband and I split up and he took my kids with. I went into a depression state where I didn't eat or move. I just went to work and then laid in bed. After a month of that I started cleaning my house and then I started walking trails by my house to keep from going crazy. At first I couldn't get too far. Every day I pushed for further and further. I am at a point now where I love to walk.
Last year I started tracking my food on here. Eating more fruit and veggies and watching how much water I got. Then I wavered away from that. This year ,starting on Earth day, I started eating organic vegan food. Now I can't say I've been perfect. Yes I've been known to eat a few pieces of meat here and there. I had a flat stomach till I started drinking soda again. So people here I am to tell you... Eat your grains, beans, fruits, veggies...stay away from all the fast food, greasy foods, sugars, and all the things you know are bad for you. You can have sweets, just change what kinds of sweets. I think it helps that I'm lactose intolerant too. I drink soy or coconut milk and I have soy or coconut ice cream too. I eat my ghirardelli dark chocolate. I also suggest Alicia Silverstones The Kind Diet book. There are some great sweets recipes in there if you are a sweets craver like me. You don't have to be rich. I make $8.75/ hour people. Bulk bins are your friends. Start making your own meals again. For lunch I have rice with beans. I'm short on money lately, but you know what...its a lot healthier then grabbing that $1 burger from mcds which I would love to have, but its not gonna happen. If you don't have time, there are still cheaper healthy foods for you.
Do you realize how many chemicals are in your foods due to growing the food? I'm sure you seen in the news about the veggies and fruits being sprayed...well what do you think those cows and birds eat? Go organic and try to stay away from the fatty foods. Thats my suggestion The chemicals are why people keep getting all this cancer and other medical issues. Sorry if that offends anyone. This is another reason I went organic. How do you think the government makes their money? Just stating...
Oh and in case you are wondering I walk 2.5 miles at least twice a week to get to work now. However I usually walk at least 10 miles a week between work and walking places. And now you want to know how much I weigh and my stats. Well I went to the doctor last week. I'm at 112.2 lbs. I'm 5.082 in height. My blood pressure and BMI is normal. I'm as healthy as an ox as they say. Oh and I don't count calories anymore, but its a great place to start.
People it starts with you. You can do anything you put your mind to. I haven't had a perfect life. Far from it. I have made it, now go out there and change you for you! Don't care what people think of you. One day you can rub it in their face and say...look at me now. Now what!?!?!?! YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO! :D
