Ugh - The Hills!

Well I decided to take a different route for my morning walk today. Lets just say I won't be doing that again anytime soon. There are many positives to living at the top of a hill like it is almost always cool and breezy up here and there is a lot less traffic. Also, the views are great. However, there is no where flat to walk. I know I will get used to them, but since I am so out of shape the hills are killing me!

I did walk 2.19 miles and it was all either straight down or straight up.

    You are so right...the hills are a killer!!!! But they do make you stronger...my motto is the hills are your friend!! Heehee!!! The view must be beautiful!!!!

    I know the hills are killer, BUT you will get into shape a heck of a lot quicker. Just something to think about...maybe consider doing just one hilly walk/week (the rest flat) and then adding in more as you get used to it.

    I live on a steep hill too! But after a while it get's easier!
    Try it by tenths of a mile it won't be so hard on you.
    The views are great aren't they? I love walking at dusk.
    I started by counting telephone poles...I'd walk up to the 2nd pole & turn around...then the 3rd etc until my legs got used to it and muscles quit screaming at me!
