Apologies to Penny for queue jumping

Well hello Rookie Runners!
If you have seen my Facebook status you will know by now that there was kind of a big announcement that was a bit of surprise news to you all.
On the 2nd of July, my gorgeous son Charlie Grace was born at 2.17pm weighing 7lb 4oz, the latest addition to the Rookie Running crew lol.
Firstly I would like to apologise to Penny for queue jumping, secondly for not letting you all in on my news and for my distinct lack of running and absence from SP . It is certainly not because I didn't want to share my news with you all, it's just that it was a bit of a rollercoaster of a journey to get to this wonderful and amazing event and emotions and nerves made me want to keep from sharing. Hormones, huh! lol.
Charlie was a complete surprise for Tom and I, we have had a number of IVF treatments that have either failed or the pregnancy hasn't continued, so we decided that we would put ourselves forward as adoptive parents after being told that there was little chance of us having children ourselves. We were accepted and started the long process and were well on our way through it when in January this year I went to the Doctor because I was tired and fed up putting on weight. I was also lacking in energy and struggling to complete 2 exercise classes and running sessions each day. Oh and was out out on my mountain bike in all of the snow and ice because it was the easiest way to get about! Doctor ran a hormone profile because he thought there may be an issue with my pituitary gland, thyroid gland OR I was perimenopausal. When they phoned me back to say the pregnancy test was positive you could have knocked me down with a feather AND it was likely that I was at least 14-15 weeks along!
So because of what has happened in the past I just wanted to make sure that everthing was ok , Charlie is here, safe well and thriving and he is the best birthday present I have ever had. So I know that as my friends you will not mind be springing this on you and that you understand why it took me so long to tell you all.
I have posted a picture on Facebook- the most handsome, cutest, adorable baby ever (in my humble opinion

)
