But I logged it and I am in order anyway.. tonight. I sleep... I've had a big day... I read a poem for the church service and messed up running sound. I'm blaming menopause, that's my story and I am sticking to it.

I'm giving a sermon in a couple of weeks on service so I've written about 1/2 of it. I need 2 more 1/2s so I can cut back to make it good. I'll be referencing Karen Armstrong's book "The 12 steps of Compassion". I think service comes out of compassion. At least it should.

I think we should have service and compassion begin at HOME. Most people in churches go off 600 miles to do some "Mission" work, when if they'd just look across the street or down the street they'd find people who need help with getting their yards cleaned up, or houses cleaned out, etc. Many towns have needy people that church members could help without driving off someplace else. emoticon My DD worked for Habitat for Humanity when in High School and she was amazed at how those people who got a house were so in need. One woman's husband had died of a heart attack and she was 42 with 4 young children, so she really needed a house. My DD was happy to work on that house and know she was helping that family.
