Yep - 2 blogs in 1 day....
I hope that the heat finally breaks tonight like they said it would.....we really need the rain that is supposed to bring the cooler temps....
Yesterday the boys and I went off for our trail run - it must have been too hot and humid, because once we got there....they didn't want to ride, and I was OK with that....so instead, we went down the paved bike path for a while, turned around, and then headed to the quarry to cool off for them....
I had a tough run - my tummy wasn't feeling right and for a while I thought I was going to be in trouble. (TMI I know)....but the wait for them to swim seemed to settle the tummy - and I pushed back to the truck.
My 12 yr. olds baseball team made the next round of tournament play and will start that tomorrow, but that was after last nights game which they won easily.
Last night when we got home, I looked at my house, and was shocked. We have been so busy that it looks like it threw up everywhere...there was laundry (clean and folded) everywhere - toilets in need of attention and dishes and counters to tend to...YUCK....I tackled a large amount of that this morning after the dentist, and then we went to the pool at my Mother in laws. I am happy to report I wore my suit from 2 Summer's ago....and it fit nicely....I couldn't wear it last Summer..... Whoo Hoo....I am more toned this Summer and that has to be it - because I am heavier than 2 years ago...
I got a 3.5 mile run into the baseball field today. It was 94' when I left, and I felt it - it was HOT....but I just took it slow and steady. My stamina is really improving. I went 22 minutes before I felt I needed a break. I could have gone longer - but I thought it was a good point....after that there was a lot of sun, so I broke down to the 3/1 intervals for the remainder. I did the 3.5 in 36 minutes....not too bad for 94'.
After Yummy dinner, steak, corn, zucchini oven chips my little guy asked me if I wanted to go for a run with him, and start training for our 5K on Labor Day....How could I say no to that...so we picked a mile loop, and off we went. HOLY CRAP is he fast....his first 1/4 mile was at a 7:30 pace, I was dying trying to keep up - the good news is that when you go out too fast, you slow down....and he did...he ran for 6 solid minutes, then he asked if we could walk...of course....we walked for a minute, and then finished up - all in all - 1 mile, 10:15...WOW.....he is good. We will run that loop for a couple of weeks, and then increase - I don't want him to burn out - and I don't want him to get shin splints....I figure if he can build up to 2.5 with me, he'll be good for the 5k....you know kids....he'll leave me in the dust.
So - in the end I got 4.5 in today in 46 minutes...YEAH....
Also did my Quickfire, and Challenge Tummy exercises....I think I will be sore tomorrow after 2 days of those.
Gotta go track all of this.
