Wednesday, July 13, 2011

I tried a new recipe! Major success! I love it! It is an all veggie stir fry. Used sesame oil and sauteed stir fry veggies, bean sprouts, mushrooms, broccoli and spiced it up a bit with cayenne pepper, pepper, and light soy sauce. Here is a pic!

Here is my meal plan for the week: (Rose, just for you!!)
~Wednesday~
Bfast-boiled egg whites and whole grain toast
Snack-Spinach and fruit smoothie
Lunch-Taco salad
Snack-Apple
Dinner-Veggie stir fry with cocktail shrimp on side

~Thursday~
Bfast-Oatmeal with blueberries
Snack/post workout-Spinach and fruit smoothie
Lunch-Turkey panini with carrots and cantaloupe
Snack-Celery and spicy guac
Dinner-Chicken and broccoli alfredo (Hungry girl recipe with shirataki tofu noodles)

~Friday~
Bfast-Boiled egg whites with cantaloupe
Snack/post workout-Spinach and fruit smoothie
Lunch-Bunless mushroom burger, grapes
Snack-Celery with guacamole
Dinner-Parmesan Tilapia, asparagus, zucchini and squash

This is what I had planned, but I may change one dinner...I bought some spaghetti squash and want to try a meal with it...It was on sale and I've never cooked with it before..would love some suggestions. =)

Here is a fun pic of my puppy, Daisy, trying to have some of my stir fry:

Love stir fry! Best thing about it is the fact that you can prep stir fry ingredients on Sunday and then use throughout the week - even your meats! This is a great way to use left-over meats which most people don't like re-heating leftovers, but in a stir-fry they are fantastic and take less time to cook!

Made me hungry just looking at it!

First of all, I love that you used sesame oil for the stir fry! I bought a tiny bottle to try it out recently and I really like it! Not having a grain (i.e. rice) is a great idea, because I'm sure the big plate of flavorful veggies filled you up!

Thank you for sharing your meal plan! :D It's simple and efficient. You slice up a canteloupe for lunch one day, you eat it at the next breakfast too. I'm going to make one this weekend for the next week! I'll let you know how it goes!

Daisy must be such a sweetie. She's beautiful!
